Kidist is now a PhD student at Oklahoma State University who received her bachelor's degree in psychology at Oklahoma State University. She worked in the Laboratory of Emotion And Psychophysiology (LEAP Lab) as an undergraduate research assistant. She also worked as a mentor to first generation college students in the TRiO Program. Her primary research interest is in the difference in risk-taking attitudes of prenatal and postpartum women.
